# How do I add DemoPage to WordPress?

> Use a plugin that adds code to every page, such as WPCode: open Code Snippets, then Header & Footer, and paste your DemoPage snippet under Footer. You can also add it to your theme's footer.

## With a plugin

1. In your DemoPage portal, open Demo settings and press Copy snippet under Embed on your site.
2. In WordPress, install a plugin that adds code to every page, such as WPCode.
3. Open Code Snippets, then Header & Footer.
4. Paste the snippet under Footer and save. The Header box works too.
5. Open your site in a private window and check for the button.

```
<script src="https://app.demopage.io/embed.js" data-demo="your-link" async></script>
```

## In your theme

Paste the snippet into your theme's footer template, before </body>. A theme update can overwrite it, so a plugin or a child theme is safer.

## If the button doesn't show

- Caching and script-optimizing plugins can delay, combine, or move scripts. Leave embed.js out of those settings, then clear the cache.
- Add the snippet in one place. If it's in both a plugin and your theme, the second copy is ignored.
- Still no button? Go through [the button checklist](https://demopage.io/help/button-not-showing.md).

Step by step: [Paste it into your site](https://demopage.io/docs/add-to-your-site.md#paste).
