# DemoPage for government and public sector: Show residents how to apply. They still press submit.

> DemoPage shows residents and staff how to use a government website or portal: finding a permit, filling in a benefits form, or renewing a license. It walks the public pages, narrates each step in the resident's language, and answers only from pages the agency approved. The resident fills in and submits the real form themselves, and decisions stay with staff.

For: Agencies, cities, and the companies that build software for them.

## What it walks

- **Public how-tos** ([Support](https://demopage.io/use-cases/support.md)). A link on a permit or benefits page. The resident asks their question and watches the steps on the public pages, then submits the real form themselves.
- **Staff training** ([Training](https://demopage.io/use-cases/training.md)). Caseworkers and clerks practice a procedure on a training system: the guide shows each step, then they do it.
- **A new portal's rollout** ([Onboarding](https://demopage.io/use-cases/onboarding.md)). When a portal changes, a walkthrough shows residents and staff the new path. Run it again after the next change.
- **Govtech demos** ([Sales demos](https://demopage.io/use-cases/sales-demos.md)). Companies that sell to agencies give each evaluator a walkthrough shaped to their department before the procurement meeting.

## What stays with your team

- Eligibility and permit decisions
- Submitting any application or payment
- Anything that needs a resident's ID number
- Legal questions

In any demo, DemoPage never does these:
- Pay for anything
- Sign anyone up
- Change your CRM
- Make a phone call
- Send an email
- Use a visitor's own login
- Open a page you didn't pick
- Promise a discount

## What it needs

Public pages work as they are. Signed-in screens need a training account with made-up residents. DemoPage's terms don't allow protected health information, payment card data, or government ID numbers in sandboxes or the pages you pick. A live demo can run in 17 languages.

## An example

Product: Cedar County Permits (a sample product)
- Visitor: A Cedar County homeowner
- Question: I want to build a deck. Which permit do I need?
- Language: Español
- Wants to see: Which permit, and how to apply

Stops:
1. Permit finder (/permits/finder): Decks over 30 inches high need a permit.
2. Residential permit (/permits/residential): Plans are uploaded as PDFs.
3. Checklist (/permits/residential/checklist): The fee is paid when you submit.

Visitor asks: "How long does review take?"
Answer: The permit page says most residential reviews take 10 business days.
Handoff: The resident submits and pays; staff make the decision.

## Questions

**Does DemoPage fill in forms for residents?**
No. It shows the steps on the public pages and answers from them. The resident fills in and submits the real form, and any decision stays with staff.

**Can residents use it in Spanish or other languages?**
Yes. The page, the spoken voiceover, and the answers come in 17 languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Hindi. Answers still come only from your own pages.

**Where is the data kept?**
On Google Cloud in the United States. Demo sessions are kept while your account is active, and deleted when you ask. DemoPage's terms don't allow government ID numbers in sandboxes or the pages you pick.

**Does it support SSO for staff?**
Not yet. SSO, audit export, and data residency are being built for the Scale plan.
