# Salesforce can send a lead; the setup on its side is yours.

> A Salesforce flow can send a lead or contact to DemoPage's address, and DemoPage records a demo made for that lead. The DemoPage side is the same as HubSpot's: one endpoint, one key, an email and a goal. We haven't published a step-by-step Salesforce guide yet, and DemoPage never updates Salesforce.

## What DemoPage expects

The Salesforce flow needs to make an outbound HTTPS call. DemoPage's side of that call is fixed and documented:

| Part | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Method and address | POST to your link's Send leads to address, https://app.demopage.io/api/d/your-link/prepare |
| Authentication | Authorization: Bearer with the link's intake key, or an x-demopage-key header |
| Required fields | email (a work email) and goal (what they want to solve) |
| Optional fields | tools, company, firstname, id |

The call, as a curl command you can test first:

```
curl -X POST https://app.demopage.io/api/d/your-link/prepare \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_INTAKE_KEY" \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"email":"ada@example.com","goal":"Our reps log calls by hand.","tools":"Salesforce"}'
```

## What is and isn't documented

- Documented: the DemoPage endpoint, the key, and the fields above. The account API also accepts contact.ready from provider salesforce at /api/v1/events.
- Not documented: the Salesforce-side setup, such as an HTTP callout from a flow and its credentials. Your Salesforce admin configures that, and we haven't published steps for it.
- Not supported: updating Salesforce. DemoPage doesn't write to Salesforce. Events are stored in DemoPage only.

## When not to use DemoPage for this

- A team that wants a no-code Salesforce setup guide today. Use HubSpot or Zapier if you can; both have published steps.
- Demo activity written back to Salesforce objects.

## Questions

**Is there a DemoPage app on the Salesforce AppExchange?**
No. There are no marketplace listings. Salesforce sends an HTTPS call to DemoPage.

**What does the Salesforce flow have to send?**
A work email and a goal at minimum. Tools, company, first name, and an id are optional.

**Can Zapier sit between Salesforce and DemoPage?**
Yes, if your Zapier plan can read Salesforce and send a webhook. The Zapier page has the DemoPage side.
