Short answer
You can enter an early-adopter code when you sign up, or later on the Plan tab in your portal. A code gives either a plan free for a set number of days, with no card and nothing billed, or bonus live demos for 30 days. Each account can use one code.
When you sign up
- 1On the sign-up form, press Have an early-adopter code?
- 2Type the code under Early-adopter code. Capital letters and spaces don't matter.
- 3Press Create account. If the code can't be used, a message under the field says why.
If your sign-up link had the code in it, the field is already filled in and shows what the code gives. A free plan's days count from the day you sign up, and bonus live demos start their 30 days when your demo goes live.
On the Plan tab
- 1Open the Plan tab in your portal.
- 2Type the code in the Early-adopter code box and press Apply code.
- 3The box changes to show the code and what it gives, for example Early-adopter code EARLYBIRD: Starter free for 60 days (10 live demos a month), no card needed. 60 days left.
What a code gives
- A plan code: Starter, Growth, or Scale free for a set number of days, with that plan's monthly live demos. The Plan tab says No card on file, and nothing is billed; it ends on its own.
- A bonus code: extra live demos on top of your monthly number for 30 days, shown as, for example, 20 bonus live demos for 30 days.
- One code per account, so codes can't be combined.
- Top-ups aren't offered while a plan from a code is active.
When a free plan from a code ends
DemoPage emails your sign-up address 7 days and 1 day before, with the subject Your free DemoPage plan ends in 7 days, then Your free DemoPage plan ends tomorrow.
Nothing is charged when it ends, and your demo goes back to the Free plan's limits. To keep the live demos, pick a paid plan on the Plan tab; it replaces the code's plan as soon as PayPal confirms it. See what happens when a plan ends.
If the code doesn't work
- If it's misspelled or no longer active, it says That code isn't valid. Check the spelling, or leave it empty.
- If its end date has passed, it says That code has expired.
- If every use of it is taken, it says That code has been fully claimed.
- If your account already used a different code, the message names it and says codes can't be combined.
- If you enter the code your account already has, it says it's already on your account.
- If you already have a paid plan, a plan code says You're already on a plan, so this code can't be added. It's for accounts starting out. Bonus codes still work.
- After 8 tries in an hour, the Plan tab asks you to wait before trying again.
- If the account can't be created at all, see why you can't sign up.
